Presentations:     Sindiwe Magona

Sindiwe Magona was born in the Transkei, South Africa and grew up in Cape Town’s black townships. Her works include two autobiographies, To My Children’s Children and Forced to Grow, the short story collection, Living, Loving, and Lying Awake at Night, and the novel, Mother to Mother.

                             Zakes Mda

Zakes Mda, Professor of Creative Writing at Ohio University, was born in the Transkei and grew up in Johannesburg and Lesotho.  His novels include The Madonna of Excelsior, The Heart of Redness, Ways of Dying, and She Plays with the Darkness.  He has also published numerous plays.
