POST-DOCTORATE SUPPLEMENTAL FUNDING [DOWNLOAD APPLICATION]

The National Science Foundation has provided the HUTEP AGEP Program with a supplemental grant in order to provide partial funding for post doctoral experiences. Using this funding Howard University and University of Texas at El Paso can help fund a postdoctoral fellow coming to one of these campuses (for one year) and help fund a postdoctoral fellow from one of these campuses doing a postdoctoral experience at another school.

  • This funding would be available only during the fellow's first year of the post doctoral experience.
  • The experience MUST include some college/university teaching in addition to research.

The applicant must have a recommendation from their current doctoral advisor and a commitment from their post doctoral experience supervisor that all conditions will be met. Applicants must meet all of the qualifications for AGEP funding:

  • U.S. citizen or permanent resident
  • Earning a PhD in a Science, Mathematics or Engineering discipline
  • Be a member of a historically underrepresented group (African American, Native American, Latino/Hispanic)
  • Preference will be given to students from schools at which there are AGEP Programs
