Nathaniel Johnson Isong, Ph.D., 1997, was awarded and honored for a “superior performance of instruction” for 2012 at U.S. Navy College Center, National Naval Medical Center/Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, Bethesda , MD. He is the first professor to receive such an award from the student body at the National Naval Medical Center.

In May 2010, Dr. Isong  was rated and voted as “the professor of the year,” the first person for such an award at U.S. Navy College Center, National Naval Medical Center, Bethesda, MD, which consists of several U.S. colleges and universities. The “Award of Excellence” was certified by the members of several branches of U.S. Department of Defense.
