The
Graduate School is pleased to announce the arrival of six graduate
exchange students from Utrecht University
in the Netherlands . They are all participants in the US-EU
Transatlantic Program in Race, Ethnicity and Migration Studies (REMS).
They will be on campus from July 1 -
August 8 engaged in independent research primarily under the
supervision of Dr. Fariyal Ross-Sheriff in the
School of Social Work.
The students are interested in the following topics:
- Economic incorporation of refugees
- Adoption, Negotiation and Validation of hyphenated identities
- Attitudes towards Muslims (US & NL)
- Intergenerational sustainment of transnational activity and
community
- Refugee and Immigrant policy
- Issues in practice with immigrants and refugees
They will
present their projects at a special program
on Thursday, August 7 at 1:00 p.m. (location to be
