Cleve Mesidor, has accepted the position of Director of Public
Affairs for the Economic Development Administration, US Department
of Commerce. Mesidor, 36, received her Master of Arts degree in Mass
Communication and Media Studies from the Howard University Graduate
School . She held the position of Communications Director for US
Rep. Betty McCollum (MN-4) for the past two years. Mesidor first
joined Capitol Hill as Communications Director for US Representative
Barbara Lee (CA-9). She has more than 10 years of experience in the
field. She began her career at CNN’s Washington DC bureau.
A native of Haiti , Mesidor has joined volunteer efforts at the
Embassy of Haiti in Washington DC to help organize relief efforts
for the Greater Washington Haiti Relief Committee. She was one of
the founding members of the Congressional Caribbean Staff
Association.
