This will consist of a series of three summer research workshops on quantitative methods, qualitative research methods, and standardized testing and fairness. Quantitative Methods Workshop

Qualitative Research Methods Workshop

June 4-15, 10:00am-2:00pm
will focus on ethnographic, interviewing, focus groups, content analysis, narrative inquiry, phenomenological studies, case study, and action research with step-by-step instruction in NVIVO text analysis software. Dr. Dawn Williams, School of Education, dgwilliams@howard.edu, will conduct the workshop.
Applied Psychometrics and Fairness in Standardized Testing Workshop

June 11-15, 2012, 10:00am-2:00pm.
The workshop will cover question development and analysis, response curve analysis, equating scores, and testing fairness with a focus on ethnic differences. Experts from Educational Testing Service, including Dr. Jhan Berry, the Chief Diversity Officer at ETS and Dr. Samuel “Skip” Livingston, Principal Psychometrician at ETS, will conduct the workshop.
