8 - REGISTRATION FOR GRADUATION
All prospective graduates must be
enrolled in the Graduate School the semester they plan to graduate.
All prospective graduates must have a Registration for Graduation
Card on file in the Graduate School.
June 15 - Submit applications for
renewal of courses and transfer of credit.
Degree requirements for the master's
and doctorate must be completed within a maximum of five and seven
years, respectively, from the date of initial registration. Courses
taken more than five and seven years prior to applying for
graduation must be revalidated by means of a written exam
administered by the department, and a restoration of course credit
form filled out and submitted to the Dean.
June 15 - MASTER'S CANDIDATES -
Submit applications for Admission to Candidacy.
June 22 - PH.D. CANDIDATES - Submit
requests for oral defense examinations.
A final copy of the dissertation
must accompany the request. Please submit original print. Xerox
copies are not acceptable. Oral defense examinations will be
scheduled only after dissertations have been checked thoroughly and
approved by the Office of Educational and Research Affairs.
PLEASE NOTE:
A doctoral candidate must be admitted to candidacy no later than the
semester before he/she expects the degree.

Doctoral candidates planning
to graduate for Summer 2007 were required to submit the
formal application for candidacy not later than April 23,
2007. |
July 13 - PH.D. CANDIDATES - This
is the last date on which defense examinations will be scheduled.
July 27 - Theses, Dissertations and
Certification Forms (GS-EA-5 and 6) are due.
All degree candidates must submit
the final copies of their theses or dissertations to the Graduate
School no later than ten working days after the oral defense.
The Certification Form GS-EA-6
for all non-thesis candidates is due on this date.
The Certification Form GS-EA-7
for all graduate certificate candidates is due on this date.
August 3 - Degree candidates must
obtain financial clearance by this date.
