Responsible Conduct of Research (RCR) Workshop The RCR Workshop is held to provide students and faculty with pertinent federal and University guidelines and regulations pertaining to the responsible conduct of research as well as a method of utilizing moral reasoning skills in responding to ethical dilemma in research. Workshop topics range from intellectual property data sharing and ownership IRB policies and procedures, data acquisition and management, mentoring, etc.
The Responsible Conduct of Research (RCR) two - day training workshop is a requirement for admission to candidacy. To receive the RCR certificate, students must complete both training sessions and successfully complete a learning assessment exercise at the end of day two.
For Spring 2006, the RCR workshop will take place on
February 8-9 , 2006 at the
College of Medicine Auditorium, Room 3019

PLEASE NOTE: The RCR certificates for all participants will be delivered to each Director of Graduate Studies on Wednesday, March 8, 2006 . Certificates will be awarded to students based on:
(1) attendance at the two-half day training sessions from 8:00 am – 1:30 pm;
(2) completion of the RCR Evaluation Form; and
(3) successful completion of the RCR
Learning Assessment Exercise administered at the end of Day Two. Students answering three (3) or more questions on the learning assessment exercise incorrectly, will be asked to attend a viewing session of the workshop and retake the exercise prior to receiving the certificate. Students are encouraged to use their notes while completing the learning assessment exercise.
