            Maria Lourdes (Malu) Silva, Coordinator for International Student Exchange for the Faculty of Economics and Administration at the University of São Paulo, São Paulo, Brazil, is currently visiting Howard University in connection with the Howard-Vanderbilt/São Paulo-Bahia US/Brazil Exchange Program. Ms. Silva is a member of the Executive Committee for the Exchange Program.

           While at Howard, Ms. Silva will meet with faculty and students who are interested in the U.S./Brazil Exchange Program, and will study and advise on procedures involving international student exchange.  She will also give a presentation on higher education studies in Brazil, to be announced at a later date.

           Ms. Silva is the recipient of the Staff Development Award from the Tokyo Foundation, which enabled the Howard staff development visit.           Ms. Silva’s visit continues until October 31.
