Innovative Curriculum & International Approach

The innovative curriculum proposed herein will present students with a unique opportunity to increase understanding of the other regions' socio-economic environment and history, better preparing them to participate in the rapidly globalizing societies.

Advances in international economic integration, ever-closer links of communication, and the increasing exchange of information have made the national focus that has traditionally predominated in many academic disciplines too confining. Instead, a new, international approach is required for analyzing the increasing connections among countries.

Social scientists can no longer study social structures and processes or institutional configurations in isolation, within national borders; today nation states are constrained by global movements of people, capital and goods, and domestic societies are reshaped by the internationalization of economic and cultural exchanges. Adopting an international perspective thus also requires a multidisciplinary focus that is attentive to the rapidly growing linkages among different fields of study.
