Admission and Selection of Exchange Students
Target Group
The primary target student population for this program will be graduate students, enrolled in a master or PhD program at one of the participating universities.
The development of students who have gained an understanding of this unique aspect of United States and Europe in the international context will potentially fill a need in the academic, governmental, and private sectors related to race, ethnicity and migration issues in both countries. Thus the graduates of this program will be able to fill an important need in both regions, and indeed in other international organizations such as the United Nations and the World Bank.
While curricular innovations will expose a large number of students to new international and multidisciplinary perspectives, student exchange will directly benefit fewer students, but with much greater intensity. By attending courses at UNM, UTEP, and Howard, Europeans will be able to take advantage of excellent instruction in the areas of race and migration studies as well as multidisciplinary social sciences.
Length of Study Abroad:
Exchange students will enrol for one semester at one of the participating universities, with American students travelling to one of the European partners, and the European students to one of the American partners.
