Housing at Central European University
The CEU Residence and Conference Center (Kerepesi Dormitory) is a modern residence complex located in the 10th District of Budapest, a 40-minute commute from the main CEU building by public transport. It provides single rooms for approximately one-third of the student body. It provides air-conditioned single rooms for up to 170 students; each room is equipped with a personal computer and a private bathroom. Accommodation in the dormitory is possible with at least 2 months notice. For visiting students under special agreements, the price is:2600 HUF (15 USD) /night
The dormitory is run as a hotel-type service and students find many other facilities such as a small convenience store; two bars and a cafeteria; a sports center with a swimming pool and a fitness room, a sauna, basketball and tennis courts. On each floor, there is a quiet lounge with a coffee machine, a microwave oven and a refrigerator; a TV room; and a laundry room. To facilitate studying at the dormitory, each room is equipped with a computer, and the center offers access to a computer lab, reading room, etc.

The prices of apartments for rent in Budapest vary mainly depending on the location and the condition of the flat. The affordable price range for an average CEU student is approximately between 35,000 and 45,000 HUF per month plus utilities (USD 200-250).

At Central European University : Before arriving students are required to check validity of their passport. Independently of how long students will be staying in Hungary , they need to obtain a Long Term D-Type Visa from the Hungarian Embassy in their home country as soon as possible after being informed of their admission to CEU. The visa should be the Multiple Entry category of the Long Term D-Type Visa.
